Welcome to the home of HHFC.
Houston Housing Finance Corporation (HHFC) is a Texas non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation established in 1979 by the City of Houston. Its mission is to provide decent, safe, and sanitary housing at affordable rates for Houston residents.
HHFC is governed by a 12-member Board of Directors appointed by the City of Houston Mayor. The Board operates through four standing committees: Finance, Special Projects, Governance, and Bond. Regular meetings are held monthly, with special meetings convened as needed.
HHFC does not have direct employees; instead, it engages independent contractors to perform key staff functions.
As an active issuer of multifamily private activity bonds for affordable housing, HHFC also serves as a direct lender. The organization finances affordable single-family subdivision developments and supports City of Houston economic development initiatives. HHFC collaborates with city and county agencies, community-based nonprofit developers, and commercial banks to raise the capital necessary for successful projects.
To date, HHFC has helped finance housing opportunities for more than 60,000 families, representing over $1.4 billion in community investment.
